Rugged 4x4 Tours!

4x4 Adventure Tours along the rugged "Bloomfield Track" to historic Cooktown!

An exciting and enthralling way to explore the Rainforest, is a guided 4x4 tour along  the "Bloomfield Track".

This "Track" is steeped in history as it follows the ancient Australian Aboriginal travelling and trading tracks, from the Daintree Wet Tropics to the drier country of Cooktown and beyond! Aboriginies used this trail to move out of the Daintree region, when the "WET" set in. Loggers and gold fossickers later followed this track, and named it the "Bloomfield Track" after the stunning Bloomfield River.

The Cow Bay area was extensively used by Australian and U.S. troops as training grounds for jungle warfare and survival tactics.

To "do the track" is now one of the highlights of a trip to the Daintree. As a 4x4 is necesary, the track is fairly lightly travelled so the opportunity to see wildlife is great. Experienced 4x4 enthusiast's regularly travers the track as part of their "Goin North" adventures! The track is truly one of the most scenic ways to travel the Daintree Coast!

We often get asked do you need a 4x4? You do if you want to "Do the Track" but we suggest to hire a standard vehicle and go on a 4x4 tour with experienced, licenced tour guides. The cost of a tour with a guide is very comparable to hiring a 4x4 with "Off Road" insurance!

Several tours are available to "Do the Track"  1/2 day,  Full day and  2 Days!
