The Daintree River is cuts the Great Dividing Range and flows into the Coral Sea just north of Wonga Beach. It is home to a myriad of species of reptiles, fish, birds, animals and plants both above and below the water line!

The Daintree is a mecca for birders, fishermen , photographers and those who are amazed by wildlife. 

The Daintree is the habitat of an extensive array of wildlife many of which are endemic to this eco system only. This is also the habitat of the estuarine or saltwater crocodile seen regularly on our cruises, also look out for other reptiles, rare birds, flying foxes and beautiful butterflies.

The Wet Tropics World Heritage Region is home to: 26% of Australia's frogs, 17% of it's reptiles, 58% of it's butterflies, 30% of marsupial species and 48% of it's birds.

Cooper Creek Cruise

The Daintree National Parks Cooper Creek, is open to the Sea at the lower end of Thorntons Beach. There are numerous large Saltwater Crocodiles, Barramundi, Sting rays and we have even seen schools of Barracoota chasing fish through the estuary.
